This book presents the results of an interlaboratory study carried out to determine the catalytic (activity) concentration in SRM 909, a lyophilized human serum, of seven enzymes: prostatic acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, creatine kinase, LDH and gamma-glutamyltransferase. The book provides a description of the round robin study, a summary of the statistical analysis of the results, and the values for the catalytic concentrations assigned to the analyte activities in SRM 909. Separate teams of clinical chemistry experts selected and carried out the analyses for the individual enzymes, following reference measurement protocols, with the exception that the reaction temperature set-point of °C (the gallium melting point) was used. The reference methods used are primarily those recommended by the Standards Committees of the AACC and/or the IEGG as candidate reference methods. The book describes the serum reconstitution protocol, the specific enzyme methods, and the results of the third (and last) round of the interlaboratory test program, which the author used to derive mean values for enzyme catalytic (activity) concentrations in SRM 909.
