Excerpt from An Outline of English Structure
At the time of the second printing of this work, in April 1956, it was indicated that it was being re printed unchanged from the original except for correction of typographical errors. It was also stated that the authors had arrived at many changes in their conclusions in the morphemics chapter, and had greatly expanded their treatment of syntax and metalinguistics. These statements were repeated in the third, fourth, and fifth printings.
