About the Author Kathleen M. Schurman, a journalist, playwright and book author, lives at Locket's Meadow Farm in Connecticut with her husband, David Melina, and dozens of animal friends, most of them rescues. Before moving to the country several years ago, she spent most of her life on the Milford beaches, often gazing at Charles Island and dreaming of buried treasure. About the Illustrator Catherine W. Hamill is a professional artist who lives and paints in Milford, Connecticut. She is active in the Milford Fine Arts Council, the Firehouse Gallery at Walnut Beach Village and other fine arts organizations. She also is a gifted teacher who draws out the inner painter in dozens of students. Catherine's paintings are exhibited throughout the world, and she is best known for capturing the spirit of a scene or a moment. This is the second book she has illustrated for Kathleen M. Schurman.
