Inhaltsangabe

The Legend of the Street Fighter is a unique and exciting autobiography of a young man (Andre Joseph) growing up in the 1980-1990s in Houston's notorious south-side ghetto during a gang and drug war when he meets a mysterious Asian warrior monk who changes his life forever. It is a classic tale as it takes you through the life of a small group of ghetto youth caught in a life and death struggle against their toxic environment, as they embrace a secret ancient Asian art of kung fu which becomes their vehicle of salvation.Their mysterious Asian teacher takes them on a journey beyond what they know as scientifically possible and helps them to survive in an urban jungle. This book goes into an untapped market of black cinema such as Barry Gordes' The Last Dragon, but in a distinct nonfiction manner that is sure to attract both the mature martial arts lover and the young hip-hop generation. This is a story of love, hate, and the triumph of the human spirit, with its ability to overcome all odds.
