One utterly amazing tale that exposes the story behind the glory of being a black woman by poetically giving her pain and struggle a voice.
Charnika Louise Hayes Charnika Louise Hayes was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1978. Born into a family of educators, Charnika Louise learned to appreciate the power of words at an early age. Her early childhood was spent on a farm in Eastman, Georgia where she spent countless hours under the tutelage of her great aunts. With an emphasis on grammar, Charnika’s aunts insisted that she complete a strict curriculum of coursework each day year round. As a result, Hayes excelled as a student when she later moved to Northern Virginia. English was always her favorite subject. She began writing poetry at age seven, and short stories at age eleven. At the urging of a Junior high school teacher, Charnika Louise began competing as a writer in local competitions. It was also in Junior high school where Hayes decided to take a drama class as an elective. She was a natural. She began acting as well as writing. Upon graduating from high school she was a writer, an orator, a poet, and an actress. Hayes took all these attributes with her to Virginia Union University where she majored in English. There she excelled as a writer, director, and actress. Now a wife and mother at age 28, Charnika is still writing, directing, and acting near her home in southern Maryland. She adds to her resume theatrical producer, and now, published author. For more information please see: www.charnikascribble.com
