Inhaltsangabe

Life presents a collection of short stories and essays that, when read in sequence, shares a series of related pictures that represent life-changing events. "The Pasture" presents a personal tale in a pastoral setting, with its share of flaws. "Squirrels in the Attic" tells of an eruption of domestic problems between humans and animals. "Of Boys and Dogs" takes us to the heart of a loving family who own two guard dogs. "Hidden Treasure" describes an aquifer, a source of pure water, an element necessary for life. Other stories speak of health issues where healing must occur through love and caring that is extended to them by those who can help. Finally, two stories belong to the First Nation people. "Sweat Bathing" is practiced by those who seek harmony and peace above all else, while "Preparing for a Vision Quest" is a step toward manhood and responsibility, a step built upon prayer, fasting, and concentration. Written by author Ethel M. Devlin and reflecting many of her own experiences, the stories of Life offer an engaging snapshot of the cycle of life.
