Rev. Thomas Prince published New England A nnals, in 1736, from early times to 1633; and intended to have continued the work to a later period; but did not live to complete his plan ;and most of the papers he collected for the purpose were lost. In this volmie it is proposed to give a concise view of events and dates, referring to the discovery of North A merica, and to he earliest visits of Europeans to the territory called New England, or North Virginia, though already noticed by Prince; and after that period, a more minute and particular statement. Free use has been made of former annals and chronicles; particularly of the volumes of the Massachusetts Historical Society. THE AUTHOR. Boston August
