From his childhood in small town Manitoba, Darcy N. Carmichael has always been intrigued by the psychology behind "Superheroes." As a pre-teen, he started a collection of comic books and action figures. Darcy realized that his Superhero world had a shortage of female role models and was inspired to write Ember's Rising.
