Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Alessandro Camiz, architect, graduated (BA+MA) in Architecture from the "Sapienza" University (Rome, 1999). Before graduating he collaborated with Sartogo Architetti Associati for the New Italian Embassy (Washington DC) and the Church of the Holy Face of Jesus (Rome). In 2007 he defended his doctoral thesis on "History of urban planning in Ravenna in the Middle Ages" (Sapienza), and therein won three ICAR/14 research grants from 2010 to 2014. In 2018 he obtained the National Qualification as associate professor in architectural and urban design 8/D1, SSD ICAR/14. He taught at the Rome program of the School of Architecture (University of Miami) and at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts of Girne American University, Cyprus, where until 2018 he directed the International Center for Heritage Studies and the Department of Interior Architecture. He is a member of ICOMOS-Italia, secretary general of the Cyprus Network for Urban Morphology and editor of Forma Civitatis, International Journal of Urban and Territorial Morphological Studies, Grünberg Verlag, Weimar-Rostock. From 2018 to 2024 he was associate professor in architectural design and director of the Dynamic Research Laboratory on Urban Morphology (DRUM) at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of Özyeğin University, Istanbul. Since 2022 he has coordinated the reconstruction unit of the civil protection commission of the Chamber of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators of the province of Rome. His main research interests concern architectural and urban design, building typology, urban morphology and advanced technologies for the management and enhancement of architectural heritage. Since 2024 he is associate professor in architectural and urban composition at the Department of Architecture of the "Gabriele d'Annunzio" University of Chieti - Pescara.
