Inhaltsangabe

This volume contains a classic guide to building organs, including detailed explanations and descriptions of organ manufacture with a special focus on pneumatic action, voicing, tuning, etc. "Modern Organ Building" will appeal to those with a keen interest in the inner workings of organs, and it is not to be missed by collectors of organ-related literature. Contents include: "General Introduction - Mechanism", "Sound-Boards", "Building Frame, Bellows; Feeders and Controlling Valves of the Same, Etc.", "Action-Work", "Organ Blowing", "Organ Pipes", "The Production of Tone in the Organ", "List of Generally Used Stops, Etc.", "Practical Tuning", "Appendix A.", "Appendix B.", "Appendix C.", etc. Many vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive. It is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially-commissioned new introduction on the history of the organ.
