Now that this book of poems has been completed, from more than a glance, it can easily be considered a testament. One of persistence and endurance-a true literary example of what it means to be stubborn. Of course, one might presume that "love" whatever you may define it as, could have very well had something to do with these words. But that's not quite so. As the author thought he had laid shining eyes on his wife, his prize, his everything-he simply began falling. Quicker than what he was once used to. Harder than what most would consider detrimental. Our poet soon found himself dancing with an effect that would later be estimated irresistible. He consequently led himself to not only think, but believe with all of his heart that he could seduce this particular young lady enough to receive unconditional reciprocation, at the very least. No . . . His desired results could not have been any further from the shape and circumstance of the current relationship in fact-illusive toxicity is the name. But despite the excessive cocktails of stagnancy and mania, the medley of illustrations was written nonetheless. After two and a half years of experiences on a two seat merry-go, here and now, Bite Me stands as an account that highlights the trials, tribulations and painful complications that by no means fail to accompany the choice of denying that dreamed unison is more likely than not, never meant to be. All of this in the midst of dramatic and sometimes comical strokes of passion is unquestionably what to be expected. Help yourself to a collection seemingly provided by a child needing nothing more than to have an adult strike his hand; just say, "No. Stop" But apparently the adult here remains absent nevertheless.

    STARFISH

    Oh, she cute ...

    suede boots, couple orange fruits, and no booty—

    Curly hair, lush lips, braces, eyes ruby

    Oo I think i caught a contact

    Hi

    Oh what's up? Don't I know you already?

    Birthday cake, bought you boyshorts &

    your homegirl the teddy?

    Yeah, that's you ... how you do?

    Same ol' blasé conversation—

    Haven't seen you in forever but I'm still so

    sick of chasin'

    Impatience

    But hold up, now my heart is racing

    It's the face across the room;

    Not the 1st sight but my heart's about to bloom ...

    little did I know

    But I was lovin' ...

    Room turned to oven, it was her ...

    She was all alone, lookin' busy,

    head up in them books

    I hadn't been in love in seconds

    but one split was all it took

    Hooked; still in euphoric stupor for

    what would be all too long

    Now I'm just gone

    And I put that on everything I cherish

    Girl shaded me a different world now that

    I look back on my own merit

    I had a star in my eye—

    wide open and I liked it

    She can't be just another

    fish in the sea

    need a Drink ...

    drink ...

    drinkin'

    thinking is she the one

    for me?

virgin ... I thought.

    FIRST NIGHTS

    And here we go again ...

    same shit, different day is at an end

    and I intend to be a lover;

    oh brother

    Temptress undercover presently gracin'

    Facebookin' in the library ...

    Me? Elated, very very—

    only cuz it's her again

    Went a little nervous but I

    approach and play pretend

    Perfect ten

    extended me a glance,

    Got me all stuck up in trance mode—

    Froze the 1st hello ... cleared the throat

    Yo you don't know me but I really wanna get to ...

    ya name, number, age, ya sign,

    n' some words you might get wet to—

    Booboo relax a bit, I'm only jokin'

    Just hopin' for mutuality

    once upon a time ...

    I'll never do you grime, I'm promisin'

    And so I promised

    Exchanged a couple more comments while

    the night became a memory.

    But if you ask me?

    It was plain to see we enjoyed the

    1st impressions

    despite difference in directions

    But it's where it all began and now ...

    For my confessions.

She made me
spaghetti ... extra
cheese.

Dragon meets Steed

Trick me? Nope, nope

I just knew she was a Virgo

Hold it down, queen crowned,

Never one for my clownin' BUT

still found her at the top of my list—

but my slick slipped up

before baby's Sun got to me.

Ticked & twisted,

slightly dissed and distant ...

that June 30 do me dirty,

I'm like wait, that's not my wiz but

I guess I must've just fell for the Rising.

Utterly surprising once I felt that

Water kissin' me goodbye ... inside

Fire cryin'

but still

I'm steady in my Air

flyin' through rejection.

I know I made mistakes but

that's why they got corrections—

stay connected w/ me

and you shall always

be protected, affected for

nothing but the better—

so no more frettin' and I'm

bettin' she a Empress

so I go & check the tarot;

how narrow!

Turns out we both magicians ...

tippin' magic wands got our egos

trippin' with consistence;

still so different,

same in one

tryin' to dodge restrictions

more & more

but we let the games begin ...
