Trudy Lynn (Bootsy) Silverheels was born near Bagdad, Arizona. She spent most of her early childhood in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but at age twelve she moved, along with her mother, Judith Begay, and her half-sister, Miranda Whitecrow, to Mexico City, where she still maintains a winter residence. She makes her primary home these days in Houston, Texas.
