Ruth Martin is a freelance author and editor, specialising in writing books for children on natural history and the creative arts. Before becoming an author, Ruth worked in the publishing industry for more than 20 years, as a bookseller, an editorial manager, and a freelance editorial consultant for a range of market-leading publishers. She now writes from the Cotswolds, where she is also raising two daughters and running a textiles studio.
Sam Rudd is a freelance illustrator and surface pattern designer based in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire. She has a background in Fine Art and creates digital illustrations that frequently incorporate hand-painted elements, resulting in a whimsical, folk-inspired style. In 2020, Sam won first prize in the Templar Design & Illustration Awards in the Picture Book category.
