Kate and her Mother were inseparable. Kate and Emma were the best of friends and Kate had always hoped that one day she would have a daughter and they too would have that kind of friend ship. Kate always wished that her Mother and Doctor Adams would get together. He filled in some of the places where she didn’t have a father.
From the time they laid her new born daughter in her arms Kate was love struck and no one took first priority in her life from then on. As Emma and Kate were, so were Kate and Angel inseparable. This brought sorrow to Kate because she felt her Mother was lonely and sad now that Kate had Angel. She wished even harder now that her Mom and Doctor Adams would get together.
Kate and Angel face terrible traumas in their life with the death of Angels father Ben and her baby brother and then Grandma but they got threw them because of their love for each other.
Angel starts dating. This is fine with Kate except she finds that her daughter has this thing about older men. Kate tries to talk to her about them but is turned off by Angel.
The unspeakable thing happens and her and Angel have a blow up and her daughter moves out with one of these men. The words that are last spoken from Angel to her mother on the way out the door tears Kate’s heart apart. Kate morns for her daughter who has had no contact with her Mother since he took her away. In the mean time Kate has refused to meet with friends or any one that has a daughter in tow. Kate feels like she has died from the day her daughter left. It takes its toll on her new marriage. Yet her husband stands beside her trying to help Kate come back to life.
After years of no communication from Angel, Kate decides that she has mourned her daughter long enough and she was going to go find her and mend their broken hearts.
It is a tough road she goes down and she finds her daughter. She also finds out that her daughter is very ill. They get reunited just to say goodbye.
