E.W. Riddle was born in the summer of 1987 and always considered himself a hopeless romantic. After many failed dating attempts, one phrase came up in his mind often; "Adore the ones who ignore you, and ignore the ones who adore you." One night while discussing his latest failure with his friends, the idea for this book came about. He always had so many "Bad-Date" stories to tell, someone suggested he write them down in a sort of "Bad-Date Journal." 2 years later, Dating Sucks was born, spanning 8 years of his dating failures. Having learnt many lessons about dating the hard way, he wanted to share these lessons with others so they could avoid making the same mistakes. Dating Sucks tells these true stories with the intent to entertain and instruct. Most of the stories include a lesson or moral. E.W. Riddle conducted a study on Hugology, or the study of hugs, and ultimately wrote an essay on it. The essay has been included in the book as an instruction-manual for those who can't figure out how to hug properly or which hug would best fit in a given situation. Dating is never easy, but the last section of this book can help make it easier. It includes tips and tricks on dating as well as a few rules to follow. Most of the rules aren't universal but can be altered and adapted to your personal dating preference.
