Steven J. Conifer is an attorney practicing in Charleston, West Virginia. A prolific writer of fiction since childhood, he has produced dozens of short stories, six novels, and hundreds of poems. He has been published in local journals, newspapers, and on the Web. A philosophy major and English minor, his literary interests include 20th-century American fiction, in particular Steinbeck, Hemingway, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. His other literary heroes include Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., Ken Kesey, Breece D'J Pancake, and Hunter S. Thompson. Conifer has a "deep respect for irreverence, absurdity, and satire."
