Such recordings have lately become important to contemporary musicians, sound artists and environmentalists. Stephen Benson is Associate Professor in the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. He is the author of Cycles of Influence (2002) and Literary Music (2006), editor of Contemporary Fiction and the Fairy Tale (2008), and co-editor of Creative Criticism (2014) and Writing the Field Recording (2018).

Will Montgomery is Reader in Contemporary Poetry and Poetics at Royal Holloway, University of London.
