Each Artdoku is a 9 x 9 grid of horizontal and vertical rows, evenly separated into 9 squares with 9 spaces in each square. Each Artdoku has some of the spaces already colored in with one of the 9 colors; these are the clues the child use to solve the puzzle by filling in the open spaces with the missing colors. When completed, each horizontal and vertical row and each square contains each of the nine colors.
