Born on a Lakota Sioux reservation in 1948 and educated at Occidental College in Los Angeles, Dennis L. Foster is an author, artist, photographer, geographer, and educator. He is the author of over 60 books on a wide range of subjects, including three bestsellers, nine book-club selections, two works of fiction, and more than 2,000 magazine features. His work in sustainable tourism was cited by the United Nations Environment Program. His paintings, drawings, and sculptures have been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums. His art and photography have been published in several books and magazines. He currently lives in Hawaii.
