Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Victor P. Gendrano is a writer, editor, publisher and poet. For 13 continuous years, 1987-1999, he published and edited in Carson, California an English-language quarterly, Heritage magazine, dealing with Filipino culture, arts and letters. He is the author of two books, Rustle of bamboo leaves, published in 2005 and Haiku and Tanka Harvest, published in December 2011. Rustle consists of the Japanese literary forms Haiku and Tanka, but also included Haiga, Haibun, Cinquain, Sijo, and Free Verse. There is also a chapter in the Tagalog language. The second book covers only Haiku and Tanka poems. Victor was fortunate in learning the Japanese literary forms from the guidance and mentorship of Susumu Takiguchi, an eminent artist, poet, and editor of World Haiku Review. He has been studying the craft for over a decade now but still considers himself a student. He writes in both English and Tagalog, a Philippine language, since high school when he became the youngest staff member of their school paper. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from the University of the Philippines and his Master's degree from Syracuse University, New York. Victor worked as a Professional Librarian with the Los Angeles (California) County Public Library until his retirement.
