The main thrust of Piscazzi’s Pizza is the hunt for a sadist who rapes and kills women in fictional Cuyahoga City, Ohio. Two friends, reporter Richard Sandrini and police captain Ralph Lee Macintar, search for the killer and each – because of their dysfunctional occupations – keeps information about the homicides from the other. Sandrini becomes a suspect early on, and sexy pizza proprietress Vicki Piscazzi throws a wrench into their friendship. The knowledge that Sandrini acquires about the 1970 student shooting exposes a conspiracy that promises to make Kent State University the lead story nationwide for the first time since the 1970s.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

During his hitchhiking days, Don Fred worked as a clay potter, janitor, night auditor, waiter, aluminum sider, marina attendant, cook, taxi driver, college instructor, and fruit picker. He lived in five states. Eventually, he settled in Atlanta, but he left in June, 1990, in a rusty 1973 Pontiac. He had no prospects for employment. He was, after all, going to become a successful writer. Fred knew of evidence that implicated government officials in the May 4, 1970, shooting at Kent State University, which killed four students and wounded nine. His knowledge became an obsession and then a novel, Piscazzis Pizza, which is concerned with a newspaper columnist who, in the course of his fictional daily work, acquires the same Kent State shooting evidence that Fred has acquired. The main thrust of Piscazzis Pizza is the hunt for a sadist who rapes and kills three women in fictional Cuyahoga City, Ohio. Two friends, reporter Richard Sandrini and police captain Ralph Lee Macintar, search for the killer and each because of their dysfunctional occupations keeps information about the homicides from the other. Mystery, conspiracy, murder, sex, humor, politics, romance, history, religion, philosophy, lust. Piscazzis Pizza has the works.
