Inhaltsangabe

The book is truly meant to be an introduction to understanding our own humanity. It deals with changing your perspective in order to see your mentality for what it is... you. The idea is to change your view before you try and change anything else, including yourself, because only then can you see that there is more to everything than what you assumed. We can and do assume what is important. But, what if there is a lot more to us than our assumptions? The second book picks up where this one leaves off and discusses our humanity in depth. But, that all important ability of ours to see our presumptuous nature, and deal with it honestly, has to exist before ever realizing what else is there.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Joe is what they call me. What's there to tell? I was born in 1977 in Wisconsin. I am 5' 11" and I love chocolate. Oh yeah, and I've almost always been a loner or outcast. I'm the guy people aren't comfortable with, or I'm the guy people love and I still find a way to distance myself from them because I don't trust it. They go hand in hand. I have A LOT of subconscious fear and desire. I'm human. All humans have A LOT of subconscious fear and desire. Above anything else, that is what we should really know about others and our selves. I'm someone who believes in the human mind. In other words, my faith lies with us as people. I've never had religion or school or a career or peer pressure forced down my throat. I guess the closest thing was TV and entertainment media. Because of that I've considered ideas at least somewhat outside of social constraints for some time. It is ironic and unfortunate but the one reality we rarely see is the one that matters most. And yes, that is us as human beings. It is what we think, believe, assume, perceive, emote, and ultimately what we want and what we do because of it. It took me a long time to really connect this idea to my own existence in even the smallest way- thirty years, give or take. We are the thing we live for; we are our meaning of life. I want people to see and honor that for what it is, because this unrealized assumption that we live beyond our selves isn't fair. It isn't true and it isn't beneficial.
