CHAPTER 1

There once was a GREEN little boy named ROY. Because he was GREEN he was so very very coy. There was something he wanted so very very much but because it wasn't GREEN it was something he couldn't even touch.

You see in the land of GREEN not only is ROY GREEN but everything else is too. Not just the grass and the trees but every animal in the zoo and a cow's moo and even YOU.

Now what ROY wants is very simple Not complex like on his chin a dimple.

No, no something round just a bit larger than the largest dish.

And no it is not a fish. A fish could be GREEN could it not? No that is not it and he likes fish a lot..

It is not something square not a fruit like a pear.

It is not a triangle shape or even a big fat roll of GREEN tape

What could a GREEN little boy with a name like ROY want that is round?

Could it be butter just a little over a pound?

Or a rock that falls to the ground?

Or something that makes a very loud sound?

No what ROY wants is something one can't lend what ROY wants is a little round friend.

Now what is the problem you might ask?

Is the friend so ugly he must wear a mask? or so lean he can hardly be seen?

No, what is wrong is this friend is not GREEN.

He comes from a land where people are mellow. He comes from a land they call YELLOW. Where everyone is just like the next fellow and they speak, act, and think exactly the same. No one seeks fame or plays a game. And there aren't any land animals there to tame. No one from anywhere else ever came. And ROY is a word they'd never choose for a name.

The people are round, they all look alike pretty silly, riding all day on three foot tall bikes. What is this friend's name? Well ... t is JACK..
