Joy and Happiness

    My Golden Pearl

    Deep on the ocean floor
    there lies a treasure.
    Its value so rich,
    words cannot measure.

    Something so beautiful,
    which is found in a clam.
    Created by Father God,
    then polished by man.

    It's put on display,
    for all the world to see.
    May I claim it for my own,
    keeping it for only me?

    Coming in an array of colors,
    each with its own shine.
    Only the 'Golden Pearl',
    stays on my mind.
    You are truly priceless,
    that's what you are to me.
    A serene type of woman,
    as everyone can see.

    Never did I imagine,
    you in my world.
    Lady you are my love,
    essence of the 'Golden Pearl'.


    Just to Know You Better

    Just to know you better,
    not for just a friend,
    but for someone very special,
    one I share my secrets with.

    Just to know you better,
    to take away the doubts,
    as troubling thoughts fill my mind
    and the moments of silence have
    left me void.

    Just to know you better,
    to have that certain someone,
    with whom I'm not afraid to cry
    and one with whom I find laughter.

    Just to know you better,
    to experience that chance of having
    someone so special in my life
    that I'm willing to trust fully.

    Just to know you better, to help
    make my world complete and
    a place of joy, peace of mind
    and somewhere nice to be with you.
    Just to know you better,
    would let me know for certain,
    it was you in my dreams
    and you, whom I woke up to.


    Closer Than Friends

    When touching you,
    I was full of emotion.
    All the time knowing,
    it would cause commotion.

    Hearts full of secrets
    of forbidden desires.
    For a woman in question,
    creating emotional fires.

    It was wrong ...
    having feelings of affection,
    but an attraction for you
    led me in your direction.

    I tried to forget ...
    this woman so charming,
    only to want her more
    with feelings so alarming.

    You saw my weakness,
    and knew my desire.
    when pushing me away,
    to extinguish the fire.

    Fearing the love,
    which you had to give ...
    in another's world
    you had vowed to live.

    Sharing with me
    a home gone sour,
    empty nights of crying,
    a situation beyond my power.

    Living in a home,
    where love was like ice,
    no attempts to compromise ...
    came to me where its nice.

    A world of confusion,
    with a man of no direction.
    Love was an illusion,
    in a life of rejection.

    All you required
    was hugging and kissing.
    This was not to be ...
    with love missing.

    Life is sad ...
    when commitment ends.
    Now you must realize,
    we're closer than friends.

    Our talks expressing
    needs and desires ...
    Reflecting on lost love
    and rekindling fires.

    Our friendship has caring
    and times to listen,
    when holding you tight
    and watching you glisten.

    Our fires are hot,
    and burn real bright.
    Starting with passionate kissing,
    and hugging at night.

    You are my world,
    in a special way ...
    when giving in to love,
    becoming my woman that day.

    Our love will be tested,
    as hearts start to mend.
    Turmoil brought us together ...
    to be closer than friends.


    The Color of Love

    When looking at you,
    I see the woman,
    I happen to be in love
    with and who happens
    to love me.

    A woman who reached
    beyond barriers, to touch
    my heart and feel the love
    laying dormant within.

    I who had loved before, but
    vowing not to let my heart
    be victim again, reached
    out finding that special
    love within you also.

    What I saw and felt,
    had no color attached,
    only the love of a woman,
    who brought out the best
    in me and never asked or
    requested anything...
