Prof. Rita Malik, MD, is a former professor of pathology. Prof. T.K. Malik, FRCS, is a former professor director and head of the department of surgery who trained in India and the United Kingdom. The Maliks have each practiced medicine for more than thirty-five years, and they are now both serving as social workers in India, providing free medical treatment to the poor.

To address the rising medical issue of diabetes, the Maliks coauthored Winning Over Diabetes: Let Our Children Not Have Diabetes, providing easy-to-understand information about the disease to help people prevent it, or at least limit its complications.
