CHAPTER 1

"LOST AND FOUND"

A love which was once lost,
in weary and trying times,
and nothing's right at any cost.

When all your prayers seem unheard,
and all appears to be a total loss,
just listen for an encouraging word,

There's one book that's tried and true,
it's found to be full of wisdom,
and a treasure of knowledge too.

Read it and be truly blessed,
for the prophets of long ago,
will surely put your mind at rest.

And what once was lost friend,
can surely be found once more,
kept in your heart til the very end.

"PASTOR AND FRIEND"

From the very first time he came to us,
we've been so blest to have him,
and for everyone a very big plus.

This reverend man of GOD,
has doubled our congregation,
this preacher we call pastor Todd.

And now he must be moving on,
for GOD has called our pastor,
for another crown to don.

Although this family's grieving,
we wish for him GODS blessings.
Yet we'll miss him at his leaving.

May his guardian angel stay,
by his side as his new venture develops,
guiding him come what may.

"MIND OVER MATTER"

Trying to concentrate I must confess,
at this; my really small desk,
among the clutter and the mess,

With not too much room to spare,
I've gone and added a P.C.,
could I put it here or there?

I believe I've gone overboard,
should I buy a larger desk,
and one I really can't afford !

Guess I'll just keep the one I got,
it's a much smaller desk, but
it's mine, and that means a lot !

"LAMP OF LIGHT"

As old as the sands of time this light,
which burns from the beginning of birth,
it burns throughout the day and into night.

This lamp is fueled by a profound love,
sending out its light over the world,
brilliant and bright as the sun above.

Because of its radience and glow,
it sheds a warmth for all to feel,
yet comforting to only those who know.

The lamp is refueled time after time,
by the caring and sharing of those who
delight in the lamps light sublime.

The lamp is the LAMB; the great I AM,
HE who grants us grace, love, and hope,
and so it is the lamp who is the LAMB.

"THE ROCKING CHAIR"

There stood the rocking chair so still,
it was empty now of human weight,
yet at times it seemed to rock at will.

Grandpa's gone for quite awhile now,
but it seems he wont let go of his
favorite old rocking chair anyhow.

The old cabin porch is still creaking,
as the rocking chair keeps rocking,
and the screen door keeps squeaking.

You can almost hear grandpa there,
as that rocker just keeps rocking,
and not a breeze blowing anywhere.

Do you suppose grandpas' rocking his chair,
or is it some old timers hairy tale, when
uninvited folks come round to scare.

"BUTTERFLIES"

During Spring and Summer skies,
and mountain air is warm and dry,
there comes multitudes of butterflies

The time they spread their wings,
to show their beautiful colors,
like colorful rainbows of all things.

From the incubator of a cocoon,
it's moulting in natures own time,
through long nights under the moon

Then one bright and sunny morn,
a stirring inside the little shell,
emerging into one of natures newborn.

This is natures pattern in process,
as the butterflies life is so short,
it makes me wonder I must confess.

"THE SEEKER"

In early times there was a man,
this man was in search of himself,
if only he knew of faith; instead he ran,

Life seemed always to be turmoil,
as he taveled on many unknown paths,
when meeting christian folks he'd recoil.

As he roamed bemoaning place to place,
becoming weary, tired and very worn,
there was a man he met face to face.

This man had no shoes or fancy clothes,
yet he radiated a wonderful glow,
was this person real? He didn't suppose.

But then something he couldn't explain,
as grace and faith came into his heart,
cleansing him like a soft Spring rain.

"IMAGINE IF YOU CAN"

Imagine if you can a world at its end,
imagine so much suffering and pain,
imagine if you can precious friend.

What would it be like without any rain,
can you imagine a world with no sun,
total darkness would only bring disdain,

In that darkness there would be no green,
but swirling dust and bolts of lightning,
and devastation like you've never seen.

Though sinners and faithless may perish,
the supreme CREATOR will cleanse, and
renew the earth for HIS chosen to cherish.

Imagine if you can a world without sin,
no more disease, no more pain, and
a new paradise for us to live in.

"EACH TIME I CRIED"

When my puppy died, I cried.
Our cat died, and I cried.
Our president died, and I cried.
When Mom died, I cried.
When our son died, I cried.
When GODS' only son died,
I cried and cried when HE died.

Why must death hurt so much,
it should be a release from pain,
so we can throw away that crutch.

The pain and suffering JESUS felt,
we couldn't bear or accept, yet
He did for us with every welt!

Blessed are those who do cry,
to pacify the loss of loved ones,
leaving not a single dry eye.

Abundance: to have all that we need,
in this land so full of GODS' gifts:
but why then do we not heed !

Does not our Creator care for...
