April Maguire Hale is one woman who is moving forward. A woman of many talents - she likes to read, write, bake, sing, act, and spend time with her family and friends. Writing has always been her passion and her lifelong dream. She studied English in college and began pursuing her goal through teaching and writing poetry. When her son was born, April began creating children’s stories with her little boy as the main character. As the years passed, April expanded her repertoire into various stories of motherhood and lessons she learned while homeschooling her son and becoming a youth pastor. These tales are told in her book, “Reflections of a Mom” which also entails her love of poetry and her spirited cross country journey driving from Virginia to California. Throughout her life, April has also developed a love for baking. This began when she was a very young girl as her mother and grandmother passed on their family traditions of holiday cookies and homemade desserts. Celebrating the holidays meant lots of baking and lots of relatives visiting and eating. April began writing these recipes down and became the sister to call when someone needed particular instructions on how to bake his or her favorite treat. With all these recipes on hand, April developed her own cookbook and gave them to her sisters for a Christmas present one year. The baking didn’t stop there. With more ideas and more desserts to try, April continued her hobby and developed more of her own delicacies. “With Love, From My Sister’s Kitchen” is April’s first published cookbook of her favorite baked goods. April has also written a fantasy sci-fi story. Told in first person, it’s the journey of a mother who finds strength and independence during a zombie apocalypse. It is a three part story which begins with a cross country road trip of a doting mother and her son. The first of the series is called Lighthouse and is soon to be published. A writer of books and blogs, cookbooks, children’s stories, and poetry, April Maguire Hale is a busy woman who lives with her son in Southern California. Originally born in Maine, she has ventured across the United States and has experienced many things along the way. She is a devout believer in God and believes that relationship is vitally more important than religion. In a dark world with so much hardship and negativity, April strives to be a beacon of light.
