Inhaltsangabe

The seven bearers of the seven stones of power broke the enchantment that freed their hereditary castle of Iódha. They ruled Kildonan from the castle for just one year before our tale begins. The Stonebearers discover that an ancient threat, Darke Magick, undermines their powers and works to seize their land of Kildonan. Not only that, but the challenger has loosed upon the land the ancient scourge, the Horde, mindless thralls that kill by suffocating their victims. The thralls can only be overcome by the magick rays from the Seven Stones, or by—fire! Along with the seven Stonebearers, a fyr derrig elf, a flying cat, a shapeshifter white bear, a king without a kingdom, and a baker strive to save Kildonan. That's not many against the Darke! Our land of Kildonan needs your help! Grab your backpack, buckle on your sword and join in the fight!

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

I did a lot of research while writing these novels — bought books, went to libraries, studied websites on medieval/feudal culture, Celtic culture, Wiccan, herbalism, Druidism, Gaelic, Celtic and Germanic mythology. None of these things appear in the book in their own clothes. The world, culture, and characters of the novels are entirely from my imagination. But I want Kildonan to be believable and to have an early medieval ambience, so I studied to create this. These are quest novels, built in the tradition of the epic quests sung and told by bards through the ages. Bardic scraps of legends introduce each chapter. Secret runes and cryptic prophecies challenge your imagination throughout the tales. There are kings and castles and magic creatures, and swords and battles and all that good stuff. So grab your sword and backpack, and we'll be off to have an adventure in the land of Kildonan. I am a Celt (Scottish-Irish) who married a Celt (Welsh-Cornish). Therefore, our kids are Celts. Runs in the family. So much for the family tree. On to myself. I hold a Master of Arts in art with minors in English and science. I taught art, science, and English (literature and mythology) for more years than I want to think about. I finally quit the teaching, and became a National Park Ranger. That was more fun. Along the way I acquired a private pilot's license, and a ski shop. I love excitement—and books. I believe that a chance for a new experience should never be passed up. I have climbed mountains, explored wild caves, backpacked deep forests. My adventures provide inspiration for my books. A few years ago I gave up being a ranger and became a creature of leisure. I now live in Florida and hike and bike and paint pictures and write novels and design web pages free lance. I also have created a beautiful garden. Need flowers?
