Sandra Cook has a Master's Degree in Instructional Design and Technology. Sandy designed individualized educational programs for her boys to help them overcome dyslexia at home. After her oldest son wasn't taught to read in his five years at public school, Sandy homeschooled her boys from upper elementary school through high school. Her sons learned to read at a high school level within two years of beginning home instruction. Sandy's sons each entered college ranked as sophomores with high GPAs and have been highly successful with their studies. Her oldest son has earned his B.S. degree and graduated from college Magna Cum Laude and her other son is still in college. Sandy is the owner of Learning Abled Kids, L.L.C. She has completed Orton-Gillingham Multisensory training (for teaching reading to children with dyslexia), Special Education Advocacy training, Charter School Organization and Concept Development Training, is a Lifetime Member of Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honor Society, and an educational change advocate. Sandy provides resources, information, and support for parents whose children have learning disabilities through her website and support group at LearningAbledKids.com. She is also the author of "Overcome Your Fear of Homeschooling," "How To Homeschool Your Learning Abled Kid: 75 Questions Answered," and "The Dyslexia Help Handbook for Parents," and is considered an expert in homeschooling to overcome learning disabilities like dyslexia.
