Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

The author, Nicholas Georgalis, has a BS is Engineering from Case Institute of Technology and an MS in Engineering from Cleveland State University. As an engineer and manager for AT&T between 1980 and 1990, the author and many other managers conducted economic studies to improve labor productivity by automating AT&Ts manual processes. The result was a loss of thousands of jobs while the value of AT&T’s stock increased ten fold thus creating great wealth. The author’s concern about the moral and ethical aspects of such rapid gains in productivity gave rise to this book. Apart from engineering economics and statistics, the author is autodidactic in philosophy, history, government, macroeconomics, and religion, the other major disciplines that are the subject of this book.
