Each book includes urls (website addresses) and passwords for over 350 spelling games, with 5 games to accompany each page of the book.

Structure of each page
Each page is designed to cover a single grapheme / spelling pattern and begins with a ‘Teaching Tip’ which explains the spelling rule being covered on that page (if there is a spelling rule). Children are then presented with a list of words to learn that follow the relevant spelling rule. Each word is given in a sentence to help the children to understand what the word means.

Multisensory
Children are encouraged to say the letters aloud as they spell (auditory) and to join the letters (kinaesthetic). The online games also allow children to learn the spellings by seeing them, by hearing audio of them and by typing them. Learning spellings in a multisensory way gives children the best chance of remembering them. Multisensory methods are also widely accepted as being most effective for dyslexic children.

Spelling rules explained at the top of each page (if there is a rule)
This helps children to apply the rule to other words too, not just to the specific words on the page.

Pen lifts after each syllable
Breaking longer words into syllables helps children to spell them.

Encouraging self-checking
Children checking their own work for errors makes them more likely to remember these and is less damaging for their self-esteem than adult correction.
