We hear a lot about E- governance these days. But how many have come across C -governance. While the former is governance by adopting electronic means of communication, the latter can be taken to mean governance by corruption. Though no government openly admits this, the fact is that it exists and grows. The result is that the citizens suffer mentally and financially while the officials becoming prosperous. We have some examples to understand how this type of governance works and how sanity and fairness are discounted in favor of dishonesty and duplicity. Corruption and greed dominate most of the democracies in the world. Even for discharging normal duties, officials who draw salary from the exchequer, resort to extraction of benefits from the recipients of services. This takes the form of cash, gifts, funding personal bills, perquisites, funding admissions, sponsorship etc. The list is exhaustive. The tentacles of C governance spread far and wide and it becomes difficult to pull them out from their strongholds. It is a welcome sign, a silver lining, that a few business schools have started realizing the relevance of this ancient scripture for human excellence. The world will witness faster and substantial progress if all business schools and institutions teach and imbibe the art of man making.

Ramaswamy Thanu (b.1934) obtained his Honors Degree in Economics from the University of Kerala and MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmadabad. His experience embraces research, administration and management. He has published several papers on leading professional journals and presented papers at all India conventions and Asia Pacific Conference of Management Consultants.Over 30 of his books have been published through amazon Createspace. The topics vary from conventional subjects like management training to unconventional ones like law and order and corruption. He is a Certified Management Consultant He writes articles combining humor, management and spirituality regularly. He has published over 30 books through amazon Createspace.
