Grover was my father. To those who knew him, he was ‘Perk’. During his lifetime, he raced stock cars, became a photographer and gunsmith, served in the U. S. Navy, and worked on the Grand Trunk Railroad. He passed away in 1974, so his contribution to this anthology is, unfortunately brief.My work history is even more varied. I have worked as a busboy, driven a semi, owned and operated a restaurant, and worked as a machine operator, security officer, office worker, and furniture salesman. These days, I driver a motorcoach.
