Many years ensued applying this key to decipher more of the Sefer Yetzirah. I went to my first lecture on Kabbalah given by an expert, who was describing the beauty and wonderful personal benefits of studying Kabbalah. I asked her if she could explain Verse 1:4 and she did. “Ten not nine means exactly that, ten and not nine,” was her answer. So much for that expert. The pain of not knowing was over and the next decades were spent in the pleasure and pure joy of using this key to unlock many secrets in number, music and scripture. The 78th generation nephew of Moses; nephew of Rabbi Abraham P. Bloch; cousin of the late Rabbi Jacob Friedman; concert violinist and Ph.D. in theoretical physics, he has spent over fifty years researching Kabbalah, The Books of Moses and the Divine Science of Maimonides. Interest in these subjects was sparked by his grandfather, Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak Bloch Hacohen, a founder of Yeshiva University. He is indebted to the late "Rebbe" Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson for his letter citing Maimonides, "The Guide of the Perplexed."
