The Mayor's Committee of Neighborhood Services was started in 1992. Richard Scheck, who was the mayor at that time, envisioned a town where power could be used to serve the people. He believed that town officials and everyday people could listen, dialogue, and bring their concerns directly to the meetings. This Committee has since been faithfully supported by both Mayor Krochmal and Mayor Hermanek up to the present day.
