Walter F. Kern worked 35 years in telephone research after receiving a master's degree in electrical engineering. In 1989, he caught the motorcycle bug and became an avid motorcycle enthusiast. After he retired, he began an eight-year stint as the Motorcycles Guide at About.com. In 2007, he founded MotorcycleViews.com. He is the author of three motorcycle books.
