Dr. Painter, Dr. Totton, and Coach Melvin are three regular guys who chose Qigong (Chi Gong) and the internal martial arts as their primary method of helping people achieve an exuberant, healthy lifestyle. John P. Painter holds a PhD in Chinese naturopathy. He is a highly sought after instructor of meditation, qigong and Asian healing methods. Dr. Painter is the head instructor at The Gompa Center in Arlington Texas. He operates branch schools throughout the United States and around the world and has written numerous books and hundreds of articles on Chinese and Tibetan methods of healing and martial arts. He has received several awards for his humanitarian contributions to health and well-being, and is listed as one of the masters, founders, and leaders of the Chinese martial arts. Dr. Carl Allen Totton is a clinical psychologist and professor, Taoist priest, martial arts grandmaster, shamanic energy healer, author and poet. He is the founder of the Taoist Institute in North Hollywood, California where he teaches many traditional Chinese martial, healing, meditative, and spiritual arts as the creator of The Core System. He has trained in the martial arts since 1963 and specializes in the mind-body connection and well-being. His motto is: Ancient arts for the modern world. Coach Melvin is the founder and Chief Instructor of Heaven’s Palm Boxing Association in Los Angeles, California.
