This book represents one half of an effort to overhaul and sort my poetry written in the last few decades. I have divided the poems thought worthy of publishing into two volumes: 'Selected Poems 2016,' and 'Less Preferred Poems 2016.' Obviously, this is the less preferred volume, but it has merit, I think, and probably contains some poems that are better than some in 'Selected.' The present volume has been organized according to topics, the same as the other: Nature, Animals, Family, Dirty Verse, etc.. But while the first volume contains poems about the universally interesting subject of Food, this one omits that subject and covers instead the difficult topic of Lust. It also includes an essay on poetry.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH Mr. Harley was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, and lived there till he was nearly 17, when he went with his family to Ottawa, Ontario. There he finished High School and next moved to Illinois where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Bradley University. He also enjoyed a brief marriage. He went from there to The University of Oregon and spent five years studying Neuroscience. In Oregon he met his present wife, Carolyn, and they moved to St. John’s to take positions at The Memorial University of Newfoundland. After seven years as an assistant professor he quit to attempt creative writing and mind the house and kids while his wife continued her academic career. Their children, a girl and a boy, have since grown up and moved to Arizona and California where they have families of their own. At present the Harleys spend winters in Arizona and summers in Newfoundland.
