Excerpt from The Ecclesiastical Edicts of the Theodosian Code
This monograph has been prepared as a dissertation to complete the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Columbia University. The subject was sug gested by a discussion in the seminar of Professor James H. Robinson and by the lectures of Professor Munroe Smith on the History of European Law.
