Excerpt from Gospel Truth Demonstrated, in a Collection of Doctrinal Books, Given Forth by That Faithful Minister of Jesus Christ, George Fox, Vol. 2 of 3: Containing Principles Essential to Christianity and Salvation, Held Among the People Called Quakers
So they cannot truly give thanks to God, that turn the grace of God into wantonness, and that walk despitefully against the spirit of grace; and therefore 'quench not the spirit.' 1 77a. V. 19. And the Lord saith, what hast thou to do to take my name into thy mouth, and hatest to be reformed? And every one that names the name of Jesus, is to depart from iniquity; else, Christ will bid such as do not depart from iniquity, depart from him this is a sad sentence, for the Saviour and Redeemer and Mediator, to bid them depart from me ye workers of iniquity, for I know you not so, though you may say grace (as you call it,) with your lips, yet if you feed without fear, and work iniquity, Christ will not own such.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is a fiery call to action, penned during a turbulent era of social and religious upheaval. The author, deeply concerned by the rampant moral decay of his time, delivers a scathing critique of those who profess Christianity but fail to live by its tenets. Drawing on the Bible and the writings of early Christian thinkers, the author seeks to expose the hypocrisy of those who indulge in gluttony, drunkenness, and other vices while claiming to be devout. He argues that such behavior betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of the true meaning of faith, and ultimately brings down God's wrath. The book's focus on the dangers of hypocrisy and the importance of true Christian living resonates with similar critiques found in the works of early Protestant reformers, who also sought to address the corrupt practices of the Church. The author's powerful warnings, coupled with his insightful interpretations of biblical texts, make this book a compelling and timely read for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of faith and its practical application in daily life. The book's message remains relevant even today, offering a timeless reflection on the enduring struggle between outward appearances and true inner conviction.
