As soon as the major portion of the American troops had returned from the World War, thus making available some shipping for the transportation of immigrants, foreigners began to pour into the United States. The arrivals at Ellis Island now total per day. The total for the year end 1ng June 30, 1920 was a very great increase over the of the preceding year. From these figures it is plainly evident that we shall soon be confronted again with the immigration problem that for a brief period had no importance.
