Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is a detailed examination of the arguments for and against the proposition for US federal regulation of grain. It reviews existing legislation on the subject, and case law relevant to the federal government's authority to regulate commerce. The author examines the commerce clause of the Constitution, particularly the extent of Congressâs ability to regulate matters which may indirectly affect interstate commerce activities, like standards and weights of commodities. The book also examines the police power reserved to the states, and to what extent, if any, that power allows individual states to create commercial regulations. The book concludes with a review of related topics, such as import and export laws, and the possible effects of federal grain standards on prices and trade.
