Excerpt from A Compend of Visceral Anatomy: Especially Adapted to the Use of Medical Students
This Compend is a continuation of Questions on Human Anatomy, and, like the latter, is chiefly based on Gray; though in the preparation of both volumes I have freely consulted Quain and other recognized authori ties. While striving to carry out the object of this series in furnishing the medical student with a condensed manual of Anatomy, I have endeavored, from a strong conviction of the importance of the subject, to make these volumes deserving of the first rank among their kind. Believing that a judicious condensation, which does not slight the essential points of the subjects treated, cannot fail being of benefit in any department of Science, I commit these Compends to the teachers and students of Anatomy, in the hope that they may be found worthy of place alongside the more exhaustive and exhausting text-books.
