According to the best in formation I am able to collect, the plan projected is by one sweeping clause, to abolish the whole of the Tithes, and according to the estimated or actual value of the Tithes of each individual parish, to compel the respective proprietors to contribute, each his fair portion of land to form a neighbouring estate, or such a preportion respectively, as will enable commissioners appointed by parliament, to purchase a distant estate, of clear equal annual value to the Tithes-which estate, so estimated according to the value Of the present day is to be transferred to the actual incumbent of each respective parish in lieu of the Tithes, which he enjoyed; and to he held upon the same tenure.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book, likely penned prior to 1850, argues the British Parliament must immediately pass an act to standardize the registry of slaves across all their colonies. This registry is necessary to enforce the existing Abolition Acts to finally end the slave trade and the horrors it inflicts on its victims. Detailed criticisms are also raised against the existing attitudes of colonial assemblies, along with suggestions for improvements, and counterarguments to expected resistance of the measure. While the main focus is on the deplorable conditions endured by enslaved persons, the author also demonstrates a perceptive comprehension of the multifaceted implications of slavery, particularly regarding economics. The author presents the registry as the key, unlocking the potential for a more just, equitable, and humane society. This book will certainly appeal to those interested in the history of slavery, the British Empire, or the enduring fight for human rights.
