Excerpt from A Fortran Program for Desmearing Small-Angle X-Ray Scattering Curves
Measurement of small angle scattering of x - rays is an extremely valuable tool for the study of macromolecular systems. In recent years, these measurements have been extensively employed in order to determine the three dimensional structure of triblock copolymers. These coploymers form domains whose size is ideally suited for small angle x - ray scatter ing studies. As a consequence, the composition of the domains and the changes of their morphology with variation of stress, temperature or pressure can be easily studied. Since triblock copolymers are fre quently used in the plastics, rubber and coating industry, their study and characterizations by small angle scattering is of prime technologi cal importance.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the mathematical and algorithmic principles behind solving a crucial integral equation that arises in small-angle X-ray scattering analysis. Traditionally, the scattering data is distorted by the experimental setup, making it necessary to apply corrections to the raw data. The author presents a novel method based on solving an integral equation. A detailed exposition of the theory behind the method is provided, including numerical stability analysis and efficient computational strategies. The author explores different algorithms for solving the integral equation, discussing their advantages and drawbacks. Additionally, a solution checking method is incorporated into the software to ensure the accuracy of the results. This book is an invaluable resource for researchers and practitioners in the field of X-ray scattering, providing a comprehensive understanding of the desmearing techniques used to correct experimental data. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
