Tux following Collection of Scnmm references may be useful to private Christians; but its chief design is to assist Parents and Teachers in the important work of instructing and examining the young. 'a few verses to be committed to memory, may be prescribed to each learner, as a weekly exer cise. Suppose that a parent were to take the charge of twelve leamers, - a number which he might easily collect, by taking the children of some neighbour, along with the children and domestics of his own family,-six verses given to each would exhaust the first subject taken up in these References, and enable him to exhibit, at one view, the chief passages of God's Word, which treated Of the importance and utility of Revelation. By following the order of the References from week to week, he carries on a con nected series of Scriptural examination. In this way topics will be suggested, on which a teacher of piety and feeling may expatiate with effect. A bare repe.
