Gabe Morales grew up in the diverse areas of Seattle/Tacoma and was exposed to Asian and Pacific Islander Gangs in the 1960-70s. After a 4-year stint in the Marine Corps, including 1 year duty in Okinawa, Japan and Team Spirit in Korea during the early 1980s, he worked at Folsom State prison for six years as a Corrections Officer where he became very familiar with all major California prison gangs. He worked with youth in Los Angeles group homes and gang members on probation. Gabe worked as a C/O at the King Co. Jail in Seattle, WA for just over a year before being promoted to the Classification Section where he worked for over 20 years. He is currently a Classification Unit Supervisor and liaisons with local and national criminal justice agencies. During his career, Gabe has interviewed thousands of gang members including members and former members of Asian and Pacific Islander gangs. He presented on this subject to police officers from all over the world at the 2016 International Terrorism and Organized Crime Conference in Anaheim, CA, hosted by the Asian Gang Inv. Asoc. of California (AGIAC). He presently resides in Hawaii and has taught about Asian/PI gangs in Honolulu.
