The demand for this rare book has brought forth the much needed reprint of this famous classic falconry work. Practical Falconry will shed considerable light on the history of the management of hawks and falcons for the sport of falconry, including age old techniques as they were practiced in the early 19th Century. Chapters include The Peregrine Falcon, Castings – Hoodings – Lures – Use of Pigeons, Partridge and Grouse Hawking, Heron Hawking – Rook Hawking – Magpie Hawking – Wild Ducks and Pigeons, The Jerfaloon – Merlins – The Goshawk – The Sparrowhawk, First Experiences With Kestrals, Notes on Flying the Merlin, The Goshawk and more. Note: This public domain edition is a perfect facsimile of the original edition and is not set in a modern typeface.
