God the Invisible King is a theological tract published by H.G. Wells in 1917. His aim was to state as exactly as possible, his religious belief. He distinguishes his beliefs from Christianity, and outlines an "uncompromising" view on the holy trinity. In the book he pleas for a "modern religion" or one that is 'renascent', that has no revelation and no founder. Wells rejects any belief related to God as Nature or the Creator, confining himself to the "finite" God "of the human heart.
