Unfortunately, because of its bias against alternative medicine and holistic health, Wikipedia does not fairly represent macrobiotics and many other integrative approaches. The contents of this book were submitted to Wikipedia but immediately rejected as fringe, although they summarized scores of peer-reviewed scientific studies. Alex Jack, Edward Esko, and Bettina Zumdick are leading macrobiotic teachers, counselors, and cooks. They are the founders of the Planetary Health Institute that sponsors the Macrobiotic Wellness Retreat and the Macrobiotic Summer Conference. Alex is co-author with Michio Kushi of The Cancer Prevention Diet and many other books. Edward is the author of One Peaceful Universe and other publications. Bettina is nutrition director for the Macrobiotic Breast Cancer Study.
